Self-distribution, for the win

Dave is confused. How could this happen?
Dave is confused. How could this happen?

You may have already heard this but in case you didn't, Blanc de Blanc, the little film that just won't die, is getting a 1-week run in a multiplex, starting May 14th.

We'll be alongside side cinematic gems as Iron Man 2 and Clash of the 3D Avatar Mega-Sharks in a 10 screen theater in Thomaston, Maine. Why Thomaston? Because that's where I grew up and the theater is banking on the "local boy does good" angle to sell some tickets.

Jason doesn't believe it either, but it's true!
Jason doesn't believe it either, but it's true!

If it does well, they may expand it to other theaters in the area, but more importantly, we need it to do well so when we make the next film, the theater is willing to do this again.

I probably don't need to tell you how hard it is to get a multiplex to play such a tiny little film that isn't exactly your standard storytelling fare, but it doesn't happen all that often. And it happens less and less every day.

So if you're anywhere near Thomaston, Maine, or know anyone near there, tell them to go check it out. Support the underdog and show people that small, smart cinema can still find an audience.

Also, you'll be able to buy tickets online in advance. We're going to encourage that, because maybe--just maybe--some of these shows will sell out, fingers crossed. And even if they don't, advance ticket sales are always helpful in showing an audience exists.
